Binge Or Cringe: Should Hotstar’s Remake Of Criminal Justice Make It To Your Watch List This Weekend?
The latest offering from Hotstar called Criminal Justice is a thriller in which apart from the real crime, the focus is also on the court proceedings. This show is a remake of the UK based show Criminal Justice.

The story is about a man named Aditya, a cab driver who gets framed for a murder. It all begins with a girl who is under the influence of alcohol hiring his cab for a ride. After dropping her home, Aditya realizes that she has forgotten her mobile phone in his cab.

He decides to return her phone the very moment, and when he visits her residence, she calls him inside and they have a one-night stand.

The next morning when he wakes up, he discovers that the girl has been murdered and there’s a knife in his hand. What happens next is something you will find out once you start watching the series. Is Aditya really innocent or is he the one behind the murder?

Criminal Justice relies heavily on its actors. Vikrant Massey as Aditya is simply fabulous. The actor who is known for his strong acting prowess doesn’t disappoint here too. Jackie Shroff as Mustafa, Aditya’s cellmate in prison has performed brilliantly and you will finally hear him utter his favourite words like Bhidu, Darling, etc. Then, we have Pankaj Tripathi, who yet again proves that you can depend on him even if the story doesn’t have enough meat.

Overall, this is slightly different from the American show as that one had the 9/11 plot-line with political context, but the makers didn’t incorporate any of it in this one.

When Tigmanshu Dhulia takes on the directorial reins, you do expect a lot from him, but sadly, he fails to live up to our expectations this time. Jackie Shroff, Vikrant Massey, Pankaj Tripathi all try to save and rescue this boring series.

Our verdict is Blahworthy!
